XTube® Tripletube heat exchanger is made of stainless steel and consists of three or four nested corrugated tubes.
Viscous fluid (or product) flows through the annular cross-section between the second and third of these three tubes. The service fluid, on the other hand, envelops the channel through which the product flows, using both the innermost and outermost sections. Thanks to the corrugated design of the tubes, high heat transfer efficiency is achieved, and surface fouling becomes more challenging.
The units are designed and manufactured according to the European Pressure Equipment Directive (97/23/EC) specifications and include a CE mark if necessary.
Products can be customized to meet application data or customer preferences.
Application areas:
Heating or cooling of high-viscosity or sticky products such as banana puree, tomato paste, caramel, and cooking sauces.
Construction materials:
All wetted parts (inner tube and elbows, etc.) are made of AISI 316L stainless steel, but duplex stainless steels are also available as an alternative for more aggressive fluids.
Surfaces not in contact with the fluids are made of AISI 304 stainless steel.
Connections:
The XTube units are designed with connections compliant with ISO standards, including a “clamp,” to expedite and facilitate installation and inspection. Matching ferrules, clamps, and gaskets can be provided upon request to connect the units to the customer’s piping system.
Design limits:
Minimum and maximum allowable operating temperature: -40°C / +180°C. Standard design conditions for XTube® Tripletube heat exchangers are as follows:
Minimum and maximum allowable operating pressure: 25 Bar (g) / Full vacuum. High-pressure and high-temperature options are available upon request.
